Seven models, four sizes, fourteen flex values and more than a hundred blades – all that choice is the price of every stick being built individually. This finder takes the pre-selection off your hands: five questions, one matching model, plus the alternative that comes in just behind it.
If you would rather compare for yourself, you will find all seven models below the finder, side by side with kick point, weight, flex range and price.
Question 1 of 5
Which size do you need?
The size decides which models are built for you in the first place.
Question 2 of 5
What do you play at the moment?
This tells us the kick point you are already used to.
Question 3 of 5
Your favourite shot?
Not the one you are best at – the one you play most often.
Question 4 of 5
What does your stick have to do above all?
One thing. You cannot have everything at once.
Question 5 of 5
Roughly what do you want to spend?
All our sticks are made of 100 % carbon – even the most affordable one.
The most important difference between the models is the kick point – the spot where the shaft loads up during the shot. After that come weight and material. All seven are made of 100 % carbon and are built in the same factory.

The models in detail
STD PRO
Low Kick · 400 g · F65–F95 · SR, INT · from CHF 178
The most affordable way into the custom segment – from the same factory and the same carbon as the top models, just built heavier. The only stick where you choose grip and colour freely. For recreational players and anyone trying a made-to-measure stick for the first time.
Low Kick · 365 g · F65–F90 · all four sizes · from CHF 165
The only model available from Youth up to Senior – which makes it the standard for junior players and clubs. Low kick and 365 g: it loads close to the blade and rewards wrist and snap shots. The all-rounder with which the least can go wrong.
Ultra-Low Kick · 365 g · F65–F105 · slim shaft · SR, INT, JR · from CHF 238
Our top model: T1100 carbon with Aviation Grade Fiber and the AEROX taper. The shaft is slim and conventionally shaped, close to a Bauer Vapor FlyLite. For explosive players who want to get the puck away without warning and prefer a familiar shaft profile. Also available as INT and JR.
Ultra-Low Kick · 365 g · F65–F105 · D-shaft · SR only · from CHF 268
Same material and the same AEROX taper as the ARCANE – the difference is the shaft. The RAPID has our ergonomic D-shaft: rounded contact areas for both hands whose shape changes along the shaft to follow your grip. Available in Senior only.
Hybrid Kick · 375 g · F65–F105 · all four sizes · from CHF 174
Our most requested top model. The hybrid kick point sits between low and mid – in the CCM R-Style – and turns the stick into the compromise that is none: fast enough for the snap shot, powerful enough for the slap shot. If you are coming from a Jetspeed or Alpha, you will feel at home straight away.
Mid kick in the CCM T-Style – if you know the Tacks, you know the feeling. The shaft loads in the middle, needs a little more time and gives back more power for it. For defencemen and everyone who has made the hard slap shot from the blue line their thing.
High kick in the Bauer T-Style: the whole shaft loads through, the energy arrives late but all at once. The classic hockey feel – if you grew up with the Nexus, you will feel at home immediately. The stiffest and most robust stick in the range.
The kick point is the spot where the shaft bends during the shot and releases the stored energy again. The lower it sits, the faster the shot is away – the higher it sits, the more power there is behind it.
Low and Ultra-Low (STD PRO, AURORA, ARCANE, RAPID) load close to the blade. The puck is gone quickly, ideal for wrist and snap shots from close range. Hybrid (HIT GRIT) sits in between and covers both properly. Mid and High (MASTER FRST, CLASSIC SPR) need a longer pull, but give back considerably more on the slap shot.
The simplest route to the right choice: look at what you play today. If you are coming from the Bauer Vapor, you do not want a high kick. If you are coming from the Supreme or Nexus, an ultra-low kick will give you too little power.
Flex – the rule of thumb and its limits
The flex value says how much force in pounds is needed to bend the shaft by one inch. As a rough orientation, take half your body weight in pounds – at 80 kg you end up at around F85. Two things matter more than the formula: cutting the stick down makes it stiffer, and anyone who takes a lot of slap shots is usually better off with the higher of two values. The full story is in the hockey stick guide.
Weight – 35 grams are more than they sound
There are 35 grams between the lightest model (365 g) and the heaviest (400 g). Not much on paper, noticeable in the third overtime. Light means faster handling, heavier usually means more robust. More on this in the guide to the right weight.
Blade – the part most people underestimate
Model and flex determine how the stick shoots. The blade determines how it feels. In the SOYUZ Curve Guide you can lay two or three curves directly on top of each other and find the match for your previous Bauer, CCM, Warrior or True blade. A Bauer P92, for example, is called P29 at CCM.
Frequently asked questions
Which hockey stick suits me?
Three things decide it: size, kick point and flex. The size follows from age and height, the kick point from your shot type and what you have played so far, the flex roughly from your body weight. The finder above works through exactly these three points and adds budget and priorities.
What is the difference between ARCANE and RAPID?
Both are top models with an ultra-low kick, T1100 carbon, the AEROX taper and 365 g in Senior. The only real difference is the shaft. The RAPID has our ergonomic D-shaft: rounded contact areas for both hands whose shape changes along the shaft to match your grip. The ARCANE has a more conventional, slimmer profile, comparable to a Bauer Vapor FlyLite. On top of that comes availability: the ARCANE also comes as INT and JR, the RAPID in Senior only.
As a beginner, do I really need a custom stick?
No. An in-stock stick in the right size and with a suitable flex gets you just as far – it is here in 1–3 business days and does not cost more. Custom pays off as soon as you know which blade and which flex you want, or when your combination is not available in stock.
How long does a custom stick take?
Around 4–6 weeks from receipt of order, because every stick is produced individually. You get an email as soon as yours goes into production. Anything in stock is with you in 1–3 business days.
What if the result does not match my gut feeling?
Then trust your gut. The finder works with five answers – you have been playing for years. Use the comparison table above, or drop us a line through the contact form telling us what you have played so far and what was missing. That is usually faster than any tool.
Is there a volume discount for teams?
From 2 sticks we automatically deduct 5 % in the cart, no code needed. Separate terms apply for clubs and larger orders, see Teams and clubs. From 3 sticks onwards, Pro Custom also opens up with more than 100 blades instead of the eleven standard curves.
Can I find a goalie stick here as well?
The finder covers player sticks. Goalie sticks are available as the SOYUZ LORD Custom Goalie Stick and in stock – there the choice runs through length and paddle, not through kick point.
