Custom or in stock – which one suits you?

The difference isn't quality, it's waiting time and choice. In stock means a finished model in a common configuration; with a custom stick you decide on model, flex, length, blade, handedness and design yourself.

The custom models and their kick points

With a custom stick you pick the model first – it determines weight and kick point. Everything else comes after that.

As a rough guide: low and ultra-low kick load closer to the blade and reward quick wrist and snap shots. Mid and high kick need more time, but deliver more power on the slap shot. More on this on the SOYUZ technology page.

Which size and which flex?

Length: as a rule of thumb the stick reaches your nose without skates and your chin with skates on. At an advanced level, habit matters most – Sidney Crosby is 180 cm tall and plays with a shaft length of just 142 cm.

Flex: cutting a stick down makes it stiffer. If you're between two values anyway and take a lot of slap shots, go for the higher one. Explained in detail in the ice hockey stick guide and in the guide to the right weight.

Blade: in the SOYUZ Curve Guide you can compare all curves side by side and find the match for your current Bauer, CCM, Warrior or True curve.

Frequently asked questions

What does a good ice hockey stick cost?

Our sticks run from CHF 158 to CHF 268 – from youth sticks to the top model. Comparable 100 % carbon sticks from the big brands cost noticeably more in Swiss retail. The difference isn't the material, it's the fact that we sell direct.

How fast will my stick arrive?

In stock: 1–3 business days. Custom: around 4–6 weeks, because every stick is produced individually.

Can I choose flex, length and blade myself?

Yes, on every custom stick. You pick model, size, flex (F20 to F105), blade, handedness, grip and design; an extension of up to 15 cm is possible too. With Pro Custom from 3 sticks you also get the full curve selection with over 100 options.

Which curve matches the one I use now?

In the Curve Guide you can overlay two or three curves directly and see the equivalents at Bauer, CCM, Warrior and True. The Bauer P92, for example, is called P29 at CCM.

Do you also have goalie sticks and sticks for kids?

Yes. Goalie sticks are available in stock and as a custom version, kids' and junior sticks in sizes YTH, JR and INT.

Can I have a team logo or name printed on?

Lettering is available on custom sticks directly in the configurator. Your own team logo is possible from 20 sticks because of the work involved – get in touch via team orders.

Where are the sticks made?

In China, at the SOYUZ factory – the same one that supplies KHL pros. We say so openly, because practically every carbon stick on the market is made there. The difference lies in the factory and the layup, not in the country.
