Who is it for?
The HIT GRIT JR is the all-rounder for juniors: the same hybrid kick point as the senior model, loading fast enough for the snap shot while still delivering power on the slap shot. Ideal for young players who don't want to commit to one type of shot yet. If you're looking for a stick for a first season instead, the JR 300g in stock is the cheaper route. The HIT GRIT in senior size is here.
Choosing flex and length
Which flex fits?
As a rule of thumb, take about half the body weight in pounds. For the two in-stock flex values that means:
Flex 40approx. 32–42 kg
Flex 50approx. 40–52 kg
Cutting the stick down raises the flex by roughly 2 points per inch. With juniors it's worth going a touch softer: a shaft that's too stiff doesn't bend at all on the shot, and that bend is exactly what creates the speed. Explained in detail in the ice hockey stick guide.
How is the length measured?
The figure given is the total length, measured with the blade – stand the stick upright against a wall with the toe on the floor. The in-stock HIT GRIT JR has a total length of 1475 mm (approx. 58"). That suits players from around 135 to 155 cm; a stick can't be made longer as the child grows, but it can easily be cut down.

Curves – P28 & P29
Which curves are available?
The P28 is an open toe curve with a pronounced toe hook – for players who carry the puck on the toe and finish out of motion. The P29 is the most versatile shape in hockey and identical to the Bauer P92: open, medium curvature, round toe – strong on shots, passes and puck handling. For juniors who are still developing, the P29 is usually the more forgiving choice.

Kick point guide
What is a hybrid kick point?
The hybrid kick point combines the best of low and high – a fast release for snap shots, but also enough power for hard slap shots. For juniors that means one stick that suits every shooting technique while it develops.
