Philipp Kurashev's Stick: Warrior Alpha LX Pro with a W03 Shape

Philipp Kurashev is one of the Swiss players who have established themselves in the NHL. His stick from our collection is a Warrior – and it shows nicely what you can tell from a pro stock and what you can't. Spec check.

  • Shoots: Left

The curve: looks like a W03

There is no curve code on the stick. The shape, however, speaks clearly: the bend starts in the middle of the blade, the face is open, the toe rounded. That is the geometry of the Warrior W03. We deliberately write “looks like” – whether it is exactly a W03 or a customised pro version can't be read off the stick.

The W03 belongs to the P92/P29 family: Bauer calls it P92, CCM P29, True TC2. It is the most played curve in hockey – versatile for passing, shooting and puck handling, without sacrificing the backhand.

Why we don't state the flex

On many pro stock sticks the flex is printed on the shaft. Not here. We could estimate a value that fits Kurashev's build – but that would be guessing. So we leave it out. Which flex suits you is shown in our flex chart.

The player

Philipp Kurashev, born on 12 October 1999 in Davos, was drafted 120th overall by the Chicago Blackhawks in 2018 and played there from 2019 to 2025. In the 2025–26 season he was under contract with the San Jose Sharks. With Switzerland he won World Championship silver in 2024. His father Konstantin Kurashev was a professional hockey player as well.

Which SOYUZ matches?

The good news first: you don't have to hunt for the curve. The P92 and the P29 are available on every SOYUZ from a single stick. For the shaft, the SOYUZ HIT GRIT (hybrid kick) is the closest match to the Warrior Alpha line. If you want an even quicker release, go for the SOYUZ ARCANE (ultra-low kick). More on the differences in the kick point guide.
